Fuchs has been competing as a showjumper since the age of 13. He is a World Cup Champion (2001), a silver and bronze medallist at the European Championships, a five-time Olympian and silver medallist at the 2000 Sydney games, and a five-time Swiss national champion. He rode in his first Nations Cup event for Switzerland in 1974 and he continues to be ranked among the top 10 showjumpers in the world.
