Michaels-Beerbaum attended Princeton University in New Jersey where she studied politics. In 2005, she earned a team gold medal in the European Championships and is the World Cup Finals winner in Las Vegas. She is the 2004 Rider of Year and a member of the 1999 gold-medal European Championship team.
