Ahlmann earned a bronze medal at the at the 2004 Athens. He has been competing and winning since 1985; he won his first international title when he earned a junior European Championship win as well as a bronze in the Young Riders category in 1995 and a team gold in the 1994 European Championships in the Young Rider category. He continues to place in the top 10 and has earned German National titles and European Championships in the past decade.
