The responsibility of the judging team is to ensure that all competitors adhere to the rules as set forth by the FEI – the “Federation Equestre Internationale,” or International Federation for Equestrian Sports. Prior to the competition, the judges inspect the fences. They check to ensure that the classes are timed right, and that the speed, height and penalties are appropriate to the different class levels.
