     Martin Collins

Profile:

Martin Collins knows the business well. Renowned as the innovator within the industry, Martinhas more than 30 years experience in synthetic surface manufacturing and installation. He has also set the standard and specification for the base construction under which his ‘stable’ of synthetic riding surfaces are installed.

Martin ’s experience is based on equestrian knowledge gained from competing up to Grade A level show jumpers as well as working for high profile companies in the UK, completing technical building and construction works.

After more than seven years of experimentation Martindeveloped the Pacemaker riding surface; yet never one to rest on his laurels, he continued to research how recycled products could be used to improve synthetic-based riding surfaces. Eventually, he formulated the cost-effective, sophisticated and successful Polytrack surface. This product has been utilised at a number of high profile sites including the European Dressage Championships (2003), the London International Showjumping Championships (since 2001), Horse of the Year Show (1996-2001), the National Dressage Championships at Stonleigh, Stal Tops’ International Showjumping show at Valkenswaard, the European Eventing Championships (2005) as well as in Kentucky USA, on the Keeneland Racecourse Training Track (September 2004) and the new racetrack at Turfway Park, opened last month to wide acclaim.

Martin also has extensive private installations across all competitive equestrian disciplines worldwide. International competitors and trainers in showjumping, dressage and eventing use his surfaces

Martin believes that horses will perform better on a synthetic surface that replicates the attributes of good turf and remains fully committed to the future of synthetic surfaces. His aim is to continue to manufacture the best synthetic surfaces in the world, which allow the horse to work to the best of its ability with the least risk of injury.
