About Us |
Las Vegas will soon be home to one of newest concepts in Animal Sanctuaries: Heaven Can Wait. HCWS is a non-profit organization that will house over 200 dogs and 100 cats who are adoptable, but did not find homes at area shelters. It will be a state of the art facility set in a lush fifteen acre park. There will be no time limit on how long a pet can stay with us, and everything we do during their stay will focus solely on preparing the animals for a life with a human family of their own. The sanctuary will contain condominiums resembling real houses for the pets to stay in, complete with furniture, doors, windows, and a backyard for playing. We will also house a park/school for the dogs, where they will be able to exercise freely, and will also be trained to exhibit proper manners for their new owner. To ensure the health of the pets, our facility will also contain a veterinary clinic that will be open to the public. Here the pets will be able to keep up with their shots, and will be properly bathed and groomed. Our main building will have a special center for adoptions with easy access computers, and a training center for people who want to learn about animal care and obedience. Heaven Can Wait will be a sanctuary for everyone in Las Vegas! |

Thomadro |
 |
A true renaissance man, Thomadro has been bringing joy and beauty into the world since his youthful days growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. His parents encouraged the natural sense of color, composition, the ming and humor that was apparent in a color drawing Thom created before his second birthday. His first "work" still hangs, professionally framed, in his parents' home.
Thom developed many of his artistic gifts throughout his youth including sculpting, printmaking, jewelry design, photography and musicianship. But painting emerged as his overriding passion and he achieved a B.A. in Fine Art from San Diego State University in 1974. That year, he had his first one man show.
Since then, Thom has been exhibited all over the world and his patron list reads like a Who's Who.
Equus Entertainment has commissioned artist Thomadro for the Las Vegas World Invitational, October 14th-15th, 2005.
"Raising the Bar" is the premier piece for the Las Vegas World Invitational.

The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation |
| |
 |
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to humane treatment for Thoroughbred racehorses, was founded in 1982. The following year, through a unique partnership with the State of New York Department of Correctional Services, the TRF’s first retirement farm was established on the grounds of the Wallkill Correctional facility in Wallkill, N.Y. The TRF’s first retired thoroughbred, Promised Road, arrived at Wallkill in 1984. The TRF horse care management vocational training program has now been replicated at TRF farms located at the Blackburn Correctional facility in Kentucky, Marion County Correctional facility in Florida and Maryland’s Charles H. Hickey School for youthful offenders.
“We are thrilled to be the national charity for this extraordinary Grand Prix event. It is fitting that this prestigious event would be dedicated to helping the wonderful animals that make it all possible. The TRF’s work for the last 25 years has helped thousands of horses and we will continue to work until our mission to stop the slaughter of horses is complete,” said Diana Pikulski, TRF executive director.
