Dr. Richard Markell is a practicing veterinarian in Rancho Santa Fe, California . He specializes in Sports Medicine exclusively for jumpers and Dressage horses. He has been the treating veterinarian for the last two World Cup finals in Las Vegas, last years US Olympic Trials (Finals) for both Dressage and Showjumping. He was the veterinarian for the World Cup Finals in Del Mar as well as the Los Angeles World Cup Dressage Finals. Dr. Markell has consulted for members of the USA, French, Argentine,Canadian, Brazilian, Belgium, Mexican, Japanese, Dutch, German, Swiss, Czech Republic and Polish Team. He has lectured to both professional veterinary meeting as well horsemans' groups throughout the United States. He lives in Encinitas California with his wife Kristin, seven year old son Henry, Millie the golden retriever, two horses, one pony and a beloved miniature donkey !
